Yesterday was not a day worth blogging about. Every day at the school is challenging, but day one in the rotation is particularly trying. The first class is usually okay, the second class has a handful of difficult kids, the third class is a group of kindergarteners who have no concept of sitting upright (at any given time there are at least half of them either laying down or laying with their feet up in the air). The fourth group is the second most difficult group in the school, and the fifth class is the absolute worst. So as the day goes on my reserve of patience and energy erodes, and the kids just get worse and worse. When I left yesterday, I was ready to quit. I would be happy to never see anyone under the age of ten again.
The good news is that Friday night dinner at my friends’ house included champagne.
